Since 1985, INCAP has stated that Research in Nutrition and health includes the study and search for solutions to pathological nutritional problems and the correction of the factors that cause them.
For this reason, one of its objectives is to contribute to improving the health of women and children, through the generation of scientific evidence about the health situation of the maternal and child group and its determinants in the region, as well as the education and training of human resources. Additionally, INCAP seeks to manage knowledge in maternal and child health and provide technical assistance in regional, national and local contexts, to promote the strategic application of public policies, plans and programs, based on the fulfillment of the mission and vision of the Institute.
