Before asking for the consent of a person for participating in an investigation, provide the subject the necessary information in a language that can easily understood:
- The individual character of the invitation to participate as a subject of research, as well as the objectives and methods of research;
- The expected duration of the subject's participation;
- The benefits to the subject or to others that might reasonably be expected as a result of the investigation;
- All foreseeable risks or discomforts to the subject, arising from their participation in the research;
- Any procedure or alternative treatment that might be as advantageous to the subject as the procedure or treatment being tested;
- The extent to which they maintain the confidentiality of the records indicating the subject's identity;
- The scope of the researcher's responsibility, if any, to provide medical services to the subject;
- That therapy free of charge to certain types of research-related injuries will be administered;
That the individual is free to refuse to participate and will be free to withdraw from the research at any time. |
