General objective

Determine the prevalence of dietetic risk factors related to cardiovascular diseases in children and adults of nine countries of Mesamerica.

Thiis was a transversal study on which 30 children and their parents at each country (n=810) were evaluated, including the following dietetic and cardiovascular parameters: 


Deficiency of omega-3 fatty acids

Vitamin B12

Folates

Vitamin B6

Vitamin D

Cortisol

Mercury

Other cardiometabolic factors: blood pressure, lipid profile, fasting glucose and insulin, homocysteine 

Fructose

Diet evaluation and behavior factors associated
