General objective |
The main goal of the project is to assess
breastfeeding practices at three months post partum and mother´s and child´s
body composition (lean body mass and fat mass), as well as cardio metabolic
risk factors (blood pressure, endothelial markers –GMP and BNP, serum
insulin, glucose, lipid profile and homeostasis model assessment –HOMA) at 3
and 11 months post-partum. Three month old infants will be includes across
all the breastfeeding range (those who are exclusively breastfed to those who
are not breastfed).
|
Methodology |
Cross-sectional study in which mother of
3-4 months old infants will be assessed. The
following dietary and cardiovascular parameters will be included: ·
Breast milk
intake at 3 months old ·
Body
composition (primary response variable) ·
Blood pressure ·
Blood biomarkers ·
Infant´s feeding practices ·
Anthropometry ·
Sociodemographic information ·
