General objective

To strengthen the design and analysis capacity for high quality DO-CVD   research, including inter-generational findings, of interdisciplinary young   researchers at the Centers of Excellence.

To promote collaboration among researchers of Center of Excellence and   the COHORTS project, for training and analysis of DO-CVD data.

To develop a common standardized set of DO-CVD measurements that may be   collected for future studies in COHORT sites and other cohort birth studies, particularly to study the relation between nutrition during early life, chronic inflammation and infection, cardio metabolic risk and socio –economic   results during adulthood.

Methodology

This project will support a series of technical   meetings and workshops, as well as online activities and communications to   promote interaction between COHORTS and researchers of the Centers of   Excellence.

This includes:

·         Two training fellowships for researchers from other Centers of   Excellence granted through competition.

·         A 5-day workshop (New Delhi 2012) to develop common measurements for a   follow-up study in COHORTS sites in order to assess the relation between   early nutrition and infection, chronic inflammation, cardio-metabolic risk   and socio-economic results during adulthood.

·         Periodic online meetings (Skype, Elluminate) between COHORTS   researchers and Centers of Excellence in order to follow up on the data   analysis and writing of scientific papers.
