Recommendations for healthy eating

during COVID-19

There is increasing evidence about the effects of the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) coronavirus infection on the human body and its health.

 

At the moment, there is epidemiological information reported in different countries that glimpse aspects related to populations more vulnerable to COVID-19 and the food insecurity that can derive from the pandemic and the clinical pictures presented in people who have been infected by this virus.

 

In this document we present information,  about nutritional and health care at different stages or conditions of the life course, community groups, patients in care centers, some associated clinical conditions and basic health recommendations in food services institutional.

 

Based on the information presented, which will be constantly updated as new evidence is identified, we recommend adapting and applying in an institutional or professional way, based on criteria and experiences of each country, in such a way that they are oriented in prevention actions, healing and rehabilitation of nutrition and health. It is our purpose that the aspects included, arouse interest in specific areas of research and strategies for the population and clinical approach of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
