INCAP creates
EFAN toolbox

In order to support technical and professional decision-makers in the design, implementation and evaluation of nutritional labeling efforts, INCAP's Planning and Technical Cooperation Unit has created a Toolbox on Nutritional Warning Front Labeling (EFAN).
The creation of the Toolbox is a public health promotion measure to promote healthy behaviors during the purchase of prepackaged food products. This aims to strengthen the knowledge of technicians and professionals in the field of health, nutrition and other related fields, in the uses of EFAN in pre-packaged food products; provide some technical elements in the validation process of an EFAN system and provide a guide for processes of socialization and formulation of this, in national workshops with key actors. All this in order to focus the benefits of its implementation in improving the consumer's ability to make healthy choices.
The toolbox on EFAN was developed jointly by PAHO / WHO and INCAP. It is made up of three modules:
- Evidence and resources from EFAN for different disciplines
- Technical support methodologies on EFAN
- Monitoring and surveillance of EFAN actions
