IResearchers from CIIPEC attend meeting to reduce burden of chronic disease



CIIPEC Researchers2The 2nd bi-annual NHLBI TREIN/HyTREC Consortium Workshop, hosted by the TREIN Nepal team and the Center for Translation Research and Implementation Science at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, US. National Institutes of Health took place at Nepal from 9 to 12 of September 2018. This workshop brought together approximately 45 researchers from the eight TREIN and HyTREC sites around the world to share progress and ideas, identify areas of research collaboration and information sharing, and push forward the global work of the consortium toward building research capacity and using proven-effective interventions to decrease the burden of non-communicable diseases in LMICs.

Dr. Manuel Ramirez, Coordinator of CIIPEC and PI of the study entitled “Implementing a multicomponent intervention to improve hypertension control in Central America” and Dr. Alejandra Paniagua, coordinator of the above mentioned research study attended this meeting and gave an update of the advances on this research project, which is part of the HyTREC consortium
