Training

The continuing education processes on Diet-related Chronic Diseases (DRCDs) aims to provide knowledge and skills that contribute to the capacity-building of health personnel, particularly of officials of the Ministries of Health and Social Security Institutes, and of primary health care providers in Mesoamerica and the Dominican Republic. Due to different geographical locations, personnel’s current work demands, and the cost implied in face-to-face education processes, on-line education modality is used to cover these necessities in the countries of the region.

This program includes courses that last from 1 to 2 months, and the certificate courses from 4 to 6 months. These are delivered through the Educational Portal of INCAP.

Finished On-line courses

  • Basic principals for the evaluation and promotion of physical activity programs
  • Certificate course: Management of behavioral risk factors for chronic diseases

Upcoming on-line courses

  • Non pharmacologic management of patients with chronic non-communicable diseases
  • Comprehensive approach to childhood obesity
